Collector Cars Will Cross the Auction
Block at 31st Annual Denver Collector Car Auction
Denver, CO-Over 250 classic and collector vehicles will cross the
auction block on July 18th and 19th at the 31st annual Denver Collector
Car Auction. The event will be held at the Denver Merchandise Mart
Pavillion Building, located at 451 East 58th Avenue in Denver.
Kruse International, the world's largest collector car sales organization,
will be hosting the event in conjunction with Vintage Gavel, Inc.
and Ed and John Soneff. The auction will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday,
August 18th and at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 19th.
The general public is invited to attend. Admission is $6 for adults
and $3 for children age 12 and under.
There will be something for every car enthusiasts. Featured cars
range from a 1932 Ford rumbleseat coupe; to a 1957 Chevrolet Bel
Air; to a 2001 Indian Centennial Chief motorcycle.
"I've been coming to Denver for the past 31 years, and we
always have a tremendous event, in terms of both the quantity and
quality of the cars offered," said Dean Kruse, founder and
CEO of Kruse International.
So after 31 years of holding the event, is there anything about
this year's upcoming sale that is different from past years?
"Looking through the cars that have been consigned for this
auction, the majority are cars from the '50s and '60s," Kruse
said. "The one that really stands out is the 1962 Jaguar XK120
6 cylinder. Someone spent a lot of time and money restoring that
particular car, and they did a beautiful job with it."
In 1987 Kruse became the youngest auctioneer in history to call
5,000 auctions. Though his company is best known for auctioning
collector cars, he is also known throughout the country for auctioning
prestigious real estate, such as John Wayne's home in Acapulco and
the Chicago Twin Towers.
